With our inaugural Harvard Alumni Day just around the corner, I am thrilled to share that two-term U.S. Poet Laureate Professor Tracy K. Smith AB ’94 will be our featured speaker! Tracy K. Smith is a writer and educator whose work has helped bridge differences, build community, and make poetry an accessible art form. It will be such an honor to hear from her, one of our most compelling alumni voices. With this news, registration for Harvard Alumni Day is officially open! I hope you will join us and fellow alumni at this special event, which will be hosted in Harvard Yard on Friday, June 3. |

Led by HAA President Vanessa W. Liu AB ’96, JD ’03, this celebration of our global alumni community will include Smith’s address, the time-honored and festive alumni parade through campus, remarks by President Bacow, and a ceremony honoring this year’s Harvard Medalists.
I welcome you to share this news with your communities and encourage attendance to what is sure to be a highlight of the alumni calendar, filled with the traditions and the pomp and circumstance we all love. All Harvard alumni and friends are welcome to attend. The event will also be available via livestream—our hope is that you will also help us find ways to celebrate in local and virtual communities for those who cannot join in person. Thank you for your help spreading the word about this momentous occasion. We’re eager to welcome alumni from across the University back to campus in June. I look forward to having you there!
