Holding our Annual Business Meeting virtually last year started as a necessity but it proved such a successful way to reach more members that we are repeating the format from last year. We anticipate returning to an in-person Annual Dinner in February of 2022. Our by-laws require a vote by members to elect the officers and directors of the Club for 2021-2022. We will hold this meeting and vote on May 25 at 4 pm via Zoom. All Harvard Club members are eligible to join the meeting. You can renew/start your membership online here. Thank you to everyone who has renewed this year! The meeting also includes reports on membership, finances, Schools Committee and calendar. This has been a challenging year that forced changes across society. In adversity there is opportunity, in this case to discuss what the Harvard Club of Cincinnati should look like going forward. What do members want from their Club? Have your expectations changed? Is there different programming you'd like to see? The vote on the slate will be by voice. Newsflash: We have 11 admitted students this year!
Note from the Nominating Committee
As we all know too well, this past year has been unlike any we have experienced before and, like most institutions, the Harvard Club of Cincinnati has had to adapt and get creative in how it reached our membership and provided quality content to the community. In many ways, our offerings have been enhanced through collaboration with fellow Clubs, volunteer organization and Harvard University. However, no matter how many zoom calls and breakout rooms one participates in, we all recognize that the lack of in-person meeting opportunities has impacted the 2020-2021 Harvard year.
To that end, the Nominating Committee, in consultation with the Board and the Harvard Alumni Association, has determined that from a Board leadership perspective, we will take a mulligan and 2021-2022 shall be a “do over” year. Our current President and First Vice President have graciously agreed to serve another year in their respective roles and we look forward to the opportunity to enjoy Sean and Shalini’s leadership in a more traditional capacity.
