Data are intertwined with a presented story and cannot be viewed independently. This discussion will focus on examples of the story and data entanglement and provide an approach for understanding the biases and assumptions for data selection as well as alternative stories.
This interactive session will have many small group discussions to socialize and sharpen your data-story acumen. Although nearly impossible for a statistician, this is a general discussion and will have no equations – although there will be many graphs and other visualizations – and a few numbers.
