This past year has been filled with extreme stresses, both mental and physical, brought about by the pandemic and other crises. The Harvard Alumni Disaster Preparedness and Response Team, a Harvard Alumni Association Shared Interest Group*, invites you to join us for a free video talk given by renowned clinical psychologist and Professor Jamie Jacobs of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center on April 29th at 6:30 pm EDT.

Professor Jacobs will share her expertise on improving emotional and physical health during crises in a talk entitled "Expanding Your Emergency Management Skills: Coping with Stress and Preventing Burnout."

Dr. Jacobs is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a Clinical Psychologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cancer Center. She is a clinical researcher and the Director of Caregiver Research in the MGH Cancer Outcomes Research & Education program. Dr. Jacobs’s research focuses on improving the emotional, physical, and treatment-related outcomes of patients with cancer and the individuals who care for them through novel therapeutic approaches that are accessible.

*The Harvard Alumni Disaster Preparedness and Response Team SIG is focused on reaching out to help Harvard alumni with specific needs wherever there is a disaster, attack, or other emergency. This effort includes sharing knowledge and resources that we can make available to fill a targeted need, as well as providing information about the on-the-ground needs from local alumni affected by an emergency rather than news reports which may be inaccurate.

All alums and their spouses and surviving are welcome to join.  We each have something to give whether it is experience, knowledge, or concern and caring.

If you would like more information on this new SIG, please contact hadisasterhelp@gmail.com.
