The Game would have been played this year on the afternoon of Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Harvard. With the football season canceled, we can predict the score, O-O... or 2 big bagels!

Fear not disappointed football fans and watch partiers! You of Harvard and Yale keep the tradition alive by meeting on the (virtual) field in the

Help the Crimson schmear the Bulldogs!

Join Harvard and Yale alumni from Cincinnati and across the Midwest as we gather together online to learn the inside secrets of bagel making from culinary celebrity Richard Huff of The Bagelry in Over-the-Rhine (Cincinnati). Participants will enjoy an inside tour of the bagel workshop, insights into the different steps of how bagels are made, and a history of this iconic food . Win points for The Crimson side in live trivia, bagel schmearing, spirit (wear your gear!) and decorated cookie showcase contests for Harvard-Yale bragging rights for the year.
Children, partners, family and friends in your quarantine pods welcome -- the more the merrier to brunch, tour and compete together on screen!

Following the bagel class and contest, we will invite local alumni (football players, performers and fans alike) to share on screen recollections and their best stories from The Game. A special guest or two might even join.

12:00pm -- Welcome and introductions

12:15pm -- Four quarters of bagel education and contests

1:15pm -- Remembrances from The Game, stories and trivia

KEY REMINDERS FOR PARTICIPANTS

Partake of your bagels throughout the event, but please remember to save at least one bagel for the schmearing contest to be held live during the event.

Trivia Contest: No special knowledge required. Participants will engage in four "quarters" of trivia contests interspersed with the program. A trivia question will be announced at the beginning of the quarter. Participants will have roughly two minutes to submit answers. Results will be announced at the end of the quarter. If the four closest guesses are from one school, that school will score 10-0 for the quarter. If the three closest guesses are from one school, that school will score 7-3 for the quarter. If the closest guesses are tied, the score will be 3-3 for the quarter. All scoring is at the final discretion of the moderator.

Bagel Schmearing Contest: At the end of one of the quarters there will be a bagel schmearing contest conducted live on screen. Participants will be judged on their ability to decorate their bagels in the most appetizing manner after having been instructed in the art of bagel schmearing by our bagel educator. Our bagel educator will award field goals for the best schmears. All scoring is at the final discretion of the moderator.

Team Spirit Contest: At the end of one of the quarters there will be a team spirit contest conducted live on screen. Participants will be invited to discuss their displays and will be judged on their display of school spirit. Sweatshirts, apparel, banners, face paint and other creative options welcome. No boring Zoom backgrounds here! All scoring is at the final discretion of the moderator.

Decorated Cookie Contest: At the end of one of the quarters there will be a decorated cookie contest conducted live on screen. Participants are encouraged to bake cookies earlier in the week and to decorate them with as much Harvard (and Yale) artistic creativity and color as possible. Participants will be invited to showcase their creations and to talk about them on screen. Cookies will be judged on their display (though sadly not on taste as we will be enjoying them apart). All scoring is at the final discretion of the moderator.
