Harvard Night at A Chorus Line
RSVP extended to Monday, October 17!! There are a few tickets left! Online sales only.
Come be part of our group for the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music's "A Chorus Line"! We have reserved seats in Section A of Corbett Auditorium for Wednesday, October 26, 8 pm. For an added treat, the conductor, CCM professor Roger Grodsky, will give us a backstage tour after the show.
Roger has Harvard ties. He was hired as a professional to conduct and "fix" Hasty Pudding Shows after the students wrote the shows starting in 1983. This is your chance to find out about "behind the scenes" at the Pudding! Roger writes about his time at Harvard:
"David Chase (current Broadway conductor and dance arranger; did the new Cinderella and Billy Elliot) wrote two of my shows. Larry O'Keefe (Legally Blonde) wrote one. I'm still friends with them. Nevin Steinberg who played trombone is the sound designer for HAMILTON! I was also the classical and soundtrack buyer in the record department at The Coop and the insignia merch for the COOP for a while."
A nine-time Tony Award-winner, and one of the longest running productions in Broadway history, A Chorus Line tells a strikingly honest tale about the backstage world of musical theatre as 17 dancers vie to make the final cut for the latest smash hit. As the auditions proceed, the diverse backgrounds and motivations of the hopefuls come to the fore, revealing stories that run the gamut of human experience and emotion as they all compete with and learn about one another. It is a process that will change them all forever… for better or worse. A Pulitzer Prize-winning fusion of dance, song and drama, A Chorus Line is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration.
This is sure to be a fantastic evening of great theater and Harvard fun! Come spend the evening with us!
